Amtel redesignates CEO Koid Hun Kian as executive director
KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): Amtel Holdings Bhd’s chief executive officer Datuk Koid Hun Kian will be redesignated as the company’s executive director.
His son, Koid Siang Loong, will take over the role of CEO from him. The changes will take effect on May 1, the Main Market-listed company announced to Bursa Malaysia on Thursday (March 2).
Hun Kian, 66, was previously Amtel’s managing director before being appointed as CEO in March last year.
Meanwhile, Siang Loong, 34, was appointed executive director of the company, also in March last year. He joined the board as a director in May 2021.
Hun Kian holds a 26.26% stake in Amtel while Siang Loong holds 6.19%.
Amtel is engaged in the trading and distribution of telematics electronics and telecommunications products, vehicle products and accessories, geographic information systems and related products, contractors for the installation, connection and testing of utility, telecommunications and fibre optic cables and related construction works, as well as property investment and investment holding.
At the time of writing on Thursday, Amtel’s share price was up one sen or 1.2% to 84 sen, representing a market value of RM81.52 million for the company.
